Finding your Perfect Fit
At AVIR NY, we want to ensure your jewelry fits perfectly. Follow the steps below to measure your ring, bracelet, bangle, and necklace sizes with ease, so you can shop confidently and get the perfect fit.
How to Measure Your Ring Size
Option 1: Measure an Existing Ring
If you already have a ring that fits well, you can easily measure its size. Here's how:
- Find a Ring That Fits: Choose a ring that fits comfortably on the finger you wish to measure.
- Measure the Inner Diameter: Using a ruler or caliper, measure the inner diameter of the ring from edge to edge (across the widest part). This will give you the size of your ring.
- Check the Size Chart: Compare the inner diameter measurement with our Ring Size Chart to find the corresponding size.
Option 2: Measure Your Finger
If you don’t have an existing ring to measure, you can use the following method to measure your finger:
- Use a Strip of Paper or String: Cut a strip of paper or use a piece of string.
- Wrap Around Your Finger: Wrap the strip around the base of the finger you want to measure, ensuring it’s snug but not tight.
- Mark the Paper or String: Mark where the ends meet and measure the length with a ruler.
- Find Your Ring Size: Use the length measurement and refer to our Ring Size Chart to determine your ring size.
How to Measure Your Bracelet or Bangle Size
Finding the right bracelet or bangle size is simple and ensures a comfortable, flattering fit. Here’s how:
- Measure Your Hand: Open your hand wide and measure around the widest part of your hand (typically at the knuckles) using a soft measuring tape or string.
- Measure Your Wrist: Alternatively, you can measure the circumference of your wrist just above the wrist bone where you would normally wear your bracelet or bangle. If using a string, mark the point where it overlaps and then measure with a ruler.
- Add Extra Room for Comfort: For a comfortable fit, add about 1/2 inch to your wrist measurement, depending on how loose or snug you prefer your bracelet or bangle. A looser fit is often more relaxed, while a tighter one is more tailored.
- Check the Size Chart: Refer to our Bracelet and Bangle Size Chart to find the size that corresponds to your wrist or hand measurement and your desired fit.
How to Measure Your Necklace Size
Necklaces come in various lengths, and finding the perfect one for your style is key. Here’s how to measure for your ideal necklace size:
- Use a Flexible Measuring Tape: Measure around your neck where you’d like the necklace to sit. Add an extra inch or two if you prefer a looser fit.
- Try on a Necklace: If you have a necklace of the desired length, simply measure it against your neck to get an idea of how the fit feels.
- Refer to the Necklace Length Chart: Compare your measurement to our Necklace Length Chart to find the ideal length for you, whether it's a choker, princess, matinee, or longer style.
Tips for a Perfect Fit:
- For rings, keep in mind that your finger size can change with the seasons (slightly larger in the summer and smaller in the winter), so it’s a good idea to measure at different times of the year.
- For bracelets and bangles, remember that a slightly looser fit often looks more relaxed and comfortable, while a snugger fit offers a more tailored look.
- For necklaces, consider how you want the necklace to sit—closer to the neck or with a bit more drape—before selecting a length.
If you’re unsure about your measurements or between two sizes, we recommend going up to the next size for a more comfortable fit.
